Overview

Colette is designed to keep your data private. Your photos and projects are created, edited, and stored entirely on your device — your creative work never leaves your device through Colette. Colette does download new templates, stickers and frames from our content delivery network, so that new content can arrive without an app update. If you purchase a subscription, the purchase is processed by Apple and our subscription partner RevenueCat, as described below. Colette also sends anonymous usage statistics, which contain none of your content, so that we can understand how the app is used and improve it.

Information We Collect

Colette has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no advertising trackers. Apart from the content downloads described under Content Updates and the anonymous usage statistics described under Usage Analytics below, the only data processed off-device relates to subscriptions: an anonymous app-generated identifier and your purchase history, used solely to unlock and restore your subscription. We have no access to your photos, your projects or any other content you create.

Photos & Media

When you add a photo to a project, it is selected through the system photo picker and used only inside Colette on your device. Your photos are not uploaded anywhere.

On-Device Processing

Background removal and image editing are performed locally on your device using Apple frameworks. The images being processed never leave your device.

Content Updates

To deliver new templates, stickers and frames without an app update, Colette downloads a content catalogue and the content files from a static content delivery network operated on our behalf by Cloudflare. These are ordinary downloads: they carry no account, no identifier and none of your photos or projects, and nothing is ever uploaded from your device. As with any request on the internet, our content provider processes standard technical data such as your IP address and device type to deliver the files; we do not use it to identify or track you.

Data Storage

Your projects are stored in Colette's local app storage on your device. They remain under your control and are removed when you delete the project or uninstall the app.

Photo Library Access

Colette requests permission to save your exported carousel into your photo library. This access is used only to write the result you choose to export — Colette does not read your photo library for any other purpose.

Subscriptions & Payments

Payments are handled by Apple through your App Store account — Colette never sees your payment details. To manage subscriptions, Colette uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and purchase information from Apple. This data cannot identify you personally and includes none of your photos or projects. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at www.revenuecat.com/privacy for details.

Usage Analytics

To understand how Colette is used and to improve it, Colette sends anonymous usage statistics to the privacy-friendly analytics service TelemetryDeck (provider: TelemetryDeck GmbH, Von-der-Tann-Str. 54, 86159 Augsburg, Germany). These statistics consist of an anonymized, untraceable identifier per app installation; app events that we define, such as “template opened” or “export finished”, with values from a fixed list, such as the number of pages or whether you have a subscription; when something fails, such as a project that could not be created, the kind of error and its system error code — never file names, paths or error text; a timestamp rounded to the nearest hour; and device metadata such as system and app version, device model, screen size, language, region, time zone, display and accessibility settings, and the number and length of app sessions. They never include your photos, your projects, the text you type or anything else you create. TelemetryDeck stores no IP addresses, uses no cookies or tracking technologies, and keeps no persistent identifiers that could be traced back to you. Third-Party Services

Beyond the subscription processing, content delivery and usage analytics described above, Colette does not include any advertising or tracking services. Your content is never shared with third parties.

Children's Privacy

Colette does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for general audiences.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be made available within the app and at our published Privacy Policy link. The date above reflects the latest revision.
